The UK Short Term Accommodation Association (STAA) is the trade association for the short-term rental sector in the UK. We exist to represent the industry to policymakers, improve standards through education and stakeholder engagement, and drive growth opportunities for our members by creating a community of like-minded businesses. Our aim is to support the sustainable growth and continued development of the industry in the British Isles.
The STAA team, led by our CEO Andy Fenner, is committed to advocating for the interests of our members and providing them with the resources and support they need to thrive. Based in our offices in London we offer a range of educational programs, networking opportunities, and advocacy efforts to help our members across the UK stay informed and connected with the latest developments in the industry.
No association could exist without its members, and the STAA is no different. Membership is open to all operators, from individual hosts to multinational platforms, and to industry suppliers via our affiliate scheme. Having signed our Code of Conduct, STAA members represent the most responsible and professional operators in the UK.
The STAA has partnered with Quality in Tourism (QIT) to carry out accreditation for hosts and property management companies operating in the homestay environment. Accreditation is annual to ensure hosts and companies continue to meet best practice and consumers can trust the accreditation.
The STAA was founded in 2017, when seven like-minded short-term rental companies came together with one purpose in mind: uniting to tackle common industry challenges and pursue shared industry goals. Today, the STAA represents close to 100 different businesses from all across the country.
The STAA offers membership for short-term rental hosts, short-term rental businesses, and companies supplying or assisting the short-term rental industry.
