Independent third party accreditation from Quality in Tourism

What is QIT accreditation?

Safe, Clean and Legal™

The STAA has appointed Quality in Tourism (QT) to carry out accreditation for properties operating in the homestay environment. Accreditation is annual to ensure consumers are protected and properties are fit for purpose.

For hosts

The accreditation is straightforward and requires operators to complete an online application form, make payment and email copies of insurance documents to Quality in Tourism. QT will then organise for an assessor to visit the property to make checks before awarding a Safe, Clean and Legal™ accreditation for 12 months if you pass.

For agencies

Via partnership with the STAA, QT is working with agencies to assure the quality of their hosts and is used as an impartial benchmark to validate your operators. Some STAA partner agencies are making accreditation mandatory and we are working together to incorporate the accreditation fee into your fee for operators, while for others we provide scheme overviews and information which can be supplied to hosts to apply directly.
