Building partnerships that strengthen the UK short-term rental sector.

  • Partnerships

Tourism is a people business. Short term rental tourism only works when it works for people. For guests, for owners, for local businesses, and for the communities we operate in. That's why we believe in working together in partnership.

Partnerships for success

The STAA is the association partner for the Host Planet Roadshow 2026, a UK-wide series of in-person events designed to connect with hosts, property managers, and suppliers in local markets across the country. The Roadshow brings the short-term rental community together for curated, roundtable-style conversation, practical learning, and meaningful peer-to-peer connections, moving beyond the traditional “expo hall” format.

In 2026, the Roadshow will visit seven of the UK’s most active short-term rental markets, ensuring hosts can access insights, support, and industry updates closer to home.

Partnerships for community

Our sector is built on trust, care, and local relationships. Members and partners live and work in the places they welcome guests. They employ local teams, use local trades and suppliers, and support high streets, hospitality, visitor attractions, and transport providers. Done well, tourism strengthens community life, sustains year round jobs, and helps towns, villages, and rural areas thrive beyond the peak season.

That local connection also shapes our social impact. Holidays are not a given for everyone. For many people, time away is a chance to rest, reconnect, and recover. Each year, STAA members work together with a charity partner to widen access to breaks, support wellbeing, and help people who have served or who are facing challenging circumstances.

We have been proud to support a range of charities and initiatives, including:

  • Bluelight Escapes providing well deserved breaks for emergency service and armed forces personnel

  • Family Holiday Charity helping families access holidays they deserve

  • TimeAway supporting families of children with long term health diagnoses to take a break

  • Other community and wellbeing focused partners chosen with members across the UK, reflecting the places we operate and the people we serve

Our featured partnership is with the Forces Employment Charity, and we are proud to support its work helping veterans and service leavers find meaningful civilian employment.

Our partnership with the Forces Employment Charity demonstrates our commitment to supporting armed forces veterans transitioning to civilian careers. Through this partnership, we help connect ex-service personnel with employment opportunities in the short-term rental sector, recognising the transferable skills they bring from military service including logistics, property management, hospitality, and customer service.

The Forces Employment Charity provides specialist support to help veterans find meaningful work, and our members benefit from access to a pool of highly skilled, disciplined candidates. This partnership reflects our broader commitment to social responsibility and supporting those who have served our country.
